The effect of pop culture & advertising on our everyday lives.

I started this blog 1 year ago today – and I can’t tell you how amazing the response has been. I started the site as a pet project – I really wasn’t sure what exactly it would turn into – but over the past year I have watched it change and develop into what it is today. When everything started it was slow going – but now thanks to all of you we’re over 200,000 views – with a growing twitter and facebook following!

This being a new year for POP I am going to try a few new things, in the coming weeks you will notice some new features – including more stories, a slight upgrade in the design, as well as a few new contributors!

I really can’t thank you all enough!

So I have to say I am pretty impressed with the overall response for the 1st Pop-Ology Design Contest! Thank you all so much for voting, and artists that you so much for creating!

Without a doubt, there will be more contests in the future!

The Design Contest has officially closed, now we are needing your submission! Please have all submission in by Monday the 24th!!! Voting will begin on tuesday the 25th!!

SUBMISSION SPECS.

1. You must use the supplied stock image in your piece. (it doesn’t need to be the main focus, but MUST be used in your design.)

2. Print must be submitted  as a .jpg, at 72 dpi. and dimensions 440px wide. (** PLEASE NOTE! This is just for submission. If your piece wins I will need a 300 dpi version with dimensions of at 11×17 inches.)

3. Contestants can only submit 1 piece.

4. All entries are due by Monday August 24th, 2009. ( meaning you have 1 week to complete your design )
